TogiMax was founded by Chef Masaya Kitayama. Masaya is from Fukuoka, Japan. Becoming a chef who made authentic Japanese cuisine was his childhood dream. He pursued his dream by going to the Tsuji Culinary Institute, where he mastered traditional Washoku spirit and skills of the Kaiseki cuisine. After working in Osaka and Tokushima, Japan, he came to Washington, D.C. Working at Sushi Taro for 17 years, he has developed “Omakase Kaiseki,” which is a traditional multi-course Japanese dinner. At Sushi Taro, there is a unique twist for Kaiseki dinner. This multi-course meal ends with very high-quality sushi. Working together with Chef Nobu Yamazaki, Sushi Taro was first awarded a Michelin star in 2017. Since then, they have been awarded a star for three consecutive years.
